Design Consultancy Projects

Earlier this year RHL completed a 14 month design and commissioning of Lighting, Sound and Projection systems on the Saga Ruby, the new “flagship” for Saga Holidays. We were approached in 2004 by Saga and subsequently given the task of designing systems for the Lido, Spa, Shop, Ballroom, Exterior aft decks, Cinema, Gym, Preview Club & View Lounge.

The end results feature Ballroom & View Lounge lighting rigs full of Martin Moving lights, ETC S4 generics & Anytronics & Pulsar DMX colour changing fluorescent and LED luminares controlled by Avolites Pearl and Pulsar Masterpiece. Sound systems from Meyer fill every corner with carefully controlled, highly intelligible (and where necessary loud!) sound. Where visible many of the fixtures are colour matched to the décor to blend in as much as possible.

For lighting in the public areas a plethora of LED heads and strips from Pulsar, and both LED & specialist fixtures from Lightgraphix followed, linked together and controlled by the new Mode Lighting Control System, Evolution. (Specially adapted to handle the rigours of the onboard power “grid”, fed via no less than 6 generators, with sync pulse re-generation) Additional fixtures (in no particular order) came from Reggiani, Lucent, Swarvoski, Selux & Illuma. We were looking for the right fixture to do each and every job, hence the wide range of specified equipment.
